The Catholic University of Korea Songeui Campus (hereinafter referred to as the “Songeui Campus”) provides this CCTV Operation & Management Policy to inform you of how video information collected on campus is used and managed. However, if a particular college or institution within the university has established its own CCTV operation and management policy, that policy shall apply.
Legal Basis and Purpose of CCTV Installation
Pursuant to Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the University installs and operates CCTV systems for the following purposes:
- Safety management of campus facilities and prevention of accidents such as fire
- Prevention of crime
- Prevention of vehicle theft and damage

Methods and Location for Accessing Video Information
- How to Access: Contact the CCTV manager in advance and visit in person to view the footage. To formally request access, you must complete and submit a Personal Video Information Access Request Form.
- Location: Songeui Hall Information Desk
Requests for Access to or Deletion of Personal Video Information
You may request access to, confirmation of, or deletion of your personal video information at any time by contacting the designated CCTV manager. The University will take the necessary measures promptly. However, such requests for confirmation or deletion are limited to cases where the video information is clearly necessary for the urgent protection of the data subject’s life, body, or property.
Security Measures for Video Information
Video information processed by the University is securely managed through encryption and other security measures. To safeguard personal video information, access rights are granted at different levels depending on user roles. In addition, to prevent alteration or misuse, records are maintained of the creation date and time, purpose of access, individual accessing the data, and time of access. For safe physical storage, lock systems are also in place.
