About Catholic Institute for Intractable Cardiovascular Disease
Research in the field of cardiovascular disease requires high-quality studies at every stage—from basic research that explores disease mechanisms and develops novel therapeutic targets, to translational research that bridges to clinical application, and large-scale clinical trials that generate robust evidence. Such research demands diverse methodologies, including molecular biology, immunology, and molecular imaging, as well as advanced equipment and experienced clinical investigators. However, it is nearly impossible for an individual researcher to possess or access all of these resources alone. Collaborative research among cardiovascular investigators is therefore the only effective way to overcome these limitations.
Until recently, our university lacked a common platform where basic and clinical cardiovascular researchers could regularly exchange information, share research topics, and discuss research methodologies. The establishment of this institute has created such a platform for communication and collaboration, with the aim of promoting joint research and advancing the field of cardiovascular medicine.
