The Catholic University Liver Research Center promotes clinical and basic research on liver-related diseases, contributing to the advancement of medical science in Korea and the improvement of public health.

The Center also cultivates highly qualified professionals through advanced education and academic research in hepatology.

In 1982, it was designated as a WHO Collaborating Center and subsequently established the WHO Collaborating Center for Hepatitis Virus Research, which has since evolved into the present center.
