Teacher Certification Program

Guide to the Teacher Certification Program

The Catholic University of Korea College of Nursing operates a teacher certification program under its educational vision of nurturing competent and creative future educators who, based on sound values, demonstrate ethical leadership amid rapid social change, diversification, and globalization. Among students who wish to obtain a School Health Teacher Certificate, the top six first-year students by academic performance are eligible to complete teacher certification courses. Upon graduation, those who fulfill the course requirements are awarded the School Health Teacher Certificate.

Eligibility Criteria for Teacher Certification Program Completion

Students who complete the teacher certification program and pursue either a designated major (or double major) approved by the Ministry of Education are awarded the corresponding teaching certificate in that field of study. Since 2013, regardless of the year of initial admission, the year of entry for teacher certification program completers has been interpreted as “one year prior to the year of selection for the program” (Teacher Certification Examination Handbook, 2013, p. 82).
